If you’re not on YouTube, then I don’t know what to tell you (other than that you should get on it right away). Begin by creating an account and channel for all your videos. Your account will allow you to comment and rate other users’ videos, which could potentially lead viewers back to your own channel. The channel itself can be subscribed to and you can actual email your subscribers. Once you’ve created enough video content, you could even embed your channel on your blog or site.
In terms of video content itself, there is (almost) no limit to what you can do. One of the cool things is that you don’t need to necessarily focus too much on quality. In fact, slightly lower quality can give a video more of viral/we-just-happened-to-catch-this-footage feel to it. However, you should always be sure to include your company name/website and any other information you deem necessary in order to build brand awareness and hopefully get some traffic out of it.
Additionally, because Google owns YouTube, their videos rank highly in search engines, which could be a great way of being “discovered” or acquiring new customers/clients. One of the most important elements in achieving this is keywords. Essentially these are your video tags and how people can find you when searching through YouTube and Google and can be pretty useful in terms of search engine optimization.
Lastly, you should view videos like you would a blog post. Once they’ve been posted, you should distribute them to your other social networks directly through YouTube (there are links below each video). Also, feel free to respond to viewers comments, but remember that anything you say is permanent and can be traced back to you. And finally, be creative!
